You are reading Reflections of a Survivor, in which I share my family’s escape and healing from spiritual abuse.
Other portions may be found here. May this story inform, inspire and motivate.
What??? When??? Where??? Who???
Have you found yourself asking these questions on my blog? Or have you wondered, “Where’ s the rest of the story?”
Because coming out of an abusive church has been such an enormous experience, I have chosen to focus on escaping and healing. Perhaps, you feel like this story has been left incomplete and you want more. Looking back, I have seen that there are missing pieces. Although, I think you could read between the lines and see that diving into deeper relationship with Christ and surrounding ourselves with faithful friends have facilitated that healing. Would you like to know more?
Have you wondered if something was missing?
Would you like specific details about a certain time or event?
Do you have questions or desire clarification about things I have already shared?
Are you just curious about something?
Wednesday, I will begin answering reader questions. I will do my best to answer each question in a timely manner while publishing two to four posts per week. I am open to questions about the past, but can only give answers that bring honor to God and my family. Therefore, I may need to remain silent on some subjects. Some questions may require more thought and prayer, resulting in slower answers. I appreciate your understanding and patience in this.
Wednesday, I will answer the first question, “Why were you afraid to leave your husband behind when leaving the church? Was he in physical danger?” The fear referred to in this question can be read about in the posts, Dreams and Lies. Come back Wednesday to read my answer.
What questions do you have? Leave them in the comments below or send me a private email at hispenonmyheart (at) gmail (dot) com.
